NEW RECORDING

Recording began last October on a new record at Blue Rock Studios in Wimberley, TX.  Co-produced with Billy Crocket, the twelve tracks feature Glen Fukunaga on bass and Rick Richards on drums, with appearances by Mark Dotson, Gene Elders, John Mills, Chris Gage and Conrad Choucroun.  Release date is late 2023.  Stay tuned for more.

Goodbye Old Friend 

It is with great sadness that I have to say goodbye to my dear friend and musical partner Dennis Todd, who passed away Saturday May 10. I will miss him, as will all who knew him. Rest in Peace Big D.

Live CD and DVD 

In June 2013 Whitfield played a show at the historic Brauntex Theater in New Braunfels, TX with George Ensle. The show was taped, and the DVD and audio CD of that show were released in November 2013 - available soon on CDbaby.com.

Live at Lakewood Bar and Grill 

Greg Whitfield's new CD "Live at Lakewood Bar and Grill" will be available July 30, 2010. The Bugle Boy in La Grange will host a CD release party that evening at 8:00 (tickets available online at www.thebugleboy.com for $12). A return show at Lakewood Bar and Grill in Dallas is scheduled for Friday August 13 at 9:00 PM. Check www.gregwhitfield.net calendar for other shows.

Keith Carper 

On Tuesday September 22, 2009 the world lost a wonderful guy and a spectacular bassist. Keith played for Hal Ketchum's band and was a regular Groove Angel with George Ensle. He is mourned and will be missed by all those who knew him. RIP Keith - I feel lucky to have played with you!

Austin Songwriters 2009 Contest 

Greg Whitfield was a finalist in this year's song competition with five songs in three different categories. Two of these songs won their respective categories ("You Don't Laugh Anymore" in the inspirational category and "I'm Yours" in the pop category). House Concert 

Whitfield is scheduled to play the annual Liberty Hill House Concert on Sunday April 19 along w/ Danny Britt, Cowboy Johnson, George Ensle, and John Emery. Austin Airwaves 

To promote the upcoming show at Bugle Boy with George Ensle and Fred Fuller, Whitfield will appear on February 20 at 2:00 pm on KUT-FM's Aielli Unleashed, hosted by John Aeilli. He will be joined on the air by Fred Fuller. The following week Whitfield will appear with George Ensle on Fox 7's Good Morning Austin. Tune in to watch and listen.
